All you need to know

before the weeding

Crete has two international airports in Iraklion and Chania, so you can either fly directly to the island or travel via Athens. If you choose the latter, you can either catch a connecting flight or take a boat to Crete. The boat duration is about 6-12 hours depending on the boat type.

Athens can be quite chaotic, so we recommend spending no more than two days there. However, if you make a stop in Athens, make sure to visit the Acropolis and enjoy a walk from the historic Plaka district to the Monastiraki square.

Once you arrive in Crete, you can either spend some time in the city where you land or head directly to Rethymno, our wedding location.

Getting there

Our wedding will take place in the village of Rethymno, located between the 2 biggest cities, Iraklio and Chania.

We chose an open air venue - Agreco Farms, it is a traditional Cretan organic farm.

We advise you to arrive to Rethymno at least a day before the wedding. We will already be there for a few days and will be happy to meet up for a dinner or even a boat day trip, let us know if you want to join!

You can reach Rethymno by charter bus (90 minutes) or by rental car (60 minutes). Buses depart every hour and cost between 7 and 9 euros. The websites are available in English.

As the party will end at midnight, there will be no transportation back. We recommend that you stay overnight in Rethymno after the wedding.

The bus schedule for 2025 are not yet available, but they will be soon. Please book your tickets a few days in advance.

Iraklio - Rethymno bus schedule.

Chania - Rethymno bus schedule.

Gifts

Having you with us in Crete to celebrate our love is truly the best gift we could ask for. If you were considering a gift, please remember we’ll be leaving Crete shortly after the wedding, so we won’t be able to bring large gifts back to Estonia.
